Why in the the world, in this day and age, would they keep that part of the design? What purpose does it serve? Is Batman really crazy?

But on a side note, they finally took off the iconic underwear for both Superman and Batman in the reboot.

I love All Star Batman. Not because it's a good Batman story, but because it's a terrible one.

have you seen the new 52 comics?

I assume you have not, because if you did you would never have posted this thread, or maybe you would have o.O

For Arkham city they kept the classic Batman trunks on the outside look, but in the new 52 he does not have trunks, so in this day and age things are changing :P

To be honest, aside from Joker's actually pretty funny joke, I never payed attention to it. The game takes play over-the-shoulder and he has a cape.

If he wears underwear outside, does he wear it on the inside aswell.

I think it'd be fascinating to learn why a lot of superheroes have underwear-on-the-outside. I can't think of any practical reason, aside from the design perspective. A solid grey/black/blue (in the case of Batman and Superman) body would be too interesting. I don't know, but there's something about it that works.

I like the new Action Comics, and I am in love with rebooted Detective Comics. I'm not sure I'm really feeling the "naked" versions of these characters.
