Looks like a subway/metro map. Operation Metro?Metro is the only map they're showing, they confirmed it would be on the show floor before E3, so yar tis Metro.

Wow this has been handled extremely poorly.
People were fucking hyped for MP footage and they go on to show none of it.
No wonder they went from 33k watching to 20k in one hour and it just keeps on dropping viewers.
They showed like 30 second clips of it while trying to interview people playing it... though footage of the game from a camera over the dudes shoulder kinda blows.Wow this has been handled extremely poorly.

@JP_Russell said:Oh yeah I thought that was a pretty good setup as well. I thought the 4 classes in 2142 was a better system than the 7 in BF2.
@ShaneDev said:Which was my favorite soldier setup, so I'm happy about that.
@Marz: Sounds like the same setup from 2142 were the Soldier was also the Medic.
Certainly; the medic in BF2 was mostly just a more mobile and survivable soldier with negligibly more limited firepower (even moreso with the introduction of the G36E), and that was increasingly reflected in the game over time as people picked the medic over the soldier more and more.
But more importantly, I like 2142's 4-class system a fair bit more than BC2's. BC2's system works, it's just not the perfectly interwoven set of roles, each with a varied and customizable assortment of capabilities via the unlockable equipment, that I felt 2142's system was.
It looks like Operation Metro is a Rush map. Or I should say they are playing that map in Rush mode.
they're showing gameplay right now again EDIT: annndddd...another interiew (about the back to karkand mappack)DAMN! Everyone was saying gameplay was on so I hit up the Stream and get greeted with that dude doing another freaking interview >.> Noone cares about what the developers favourite class or first console was urgh.
So I'm confused, are medic and support separate again? Seems to be what it looks like, unless medic is like...a subclass.
It looks like class system will be like 2142.
Assault = Assault/Medic
Engineer = Anti tank/Engineer
Recon = Sniper/Special Forces
Support = LMG + ammo crates
Seems like we'll be stuck with the same Bad Company 2 voice chat system where you can only talk to squad mates.
Prone and Rate of Fire mode changes are available.
Wish there was more i could gather from the Stream.... just seems like a souped up version of Bad Company 2 so far. I need to see the bigger maps before i'm sold on this game being the "NEXT" successor to Battlefield 2.
@Marz: Actually no. You'll be able to party up in Battlelog with your friends, so you'll be able to talk to your friends indipendant from squads. More than 4 players can be in the same ingame VoiP:Thought battlelog was just a stat tracking webpage with steam group stuff. I doubt the purpose of it is for voice chat over a webpage without downloading some type of client. Also that's not gonna fly for the console players, who aren't able to type during the game to bark out orders to other squads.
Battlelog will obviously be seamlessly integrated into BF3's menus. Battlefield's equivalent to Need for Speed's autolog. Adding XBLA-style partychat to the PC BF3 experience via Battlelog has already been confirmed multiple times - just check the initial stories on the topic.
ok that sounds cool but that still doesnt' answer the question on how you'll be able to talk to the rest of the team via voice chat. Nobody wants to add random douchebag( dude not going for objective, etc etc) to his friends list to talk to him on battlelog.@Marz: Battlelog will obviously be seamlessly integrated into BF3's menus. Obviously you can't. 32 players in one VoiP channel, especially on a PUB server, would be unbearable. I just hope they'll let us talk to vehicle crew regardless of squad or VoiP party. With teamplay features like 3D spotting, VoiP ain't that important anyways.@Seppli said:

I only had meaningful VoiP interaction in MMORPGs and there mostly with organized guilds and rarely with random pick-up-groups. Back in the days of 40 player raids, without VoiP-discipline, there was chaos - and that obviously were organized raid groups, not public pick-up groups.
Most won't appreciate strangers telling them how to play. Remember how I had a talkative dude in my squad once on PS3. Defender-side. Was pinned down. One move and I'd die. Crate got armed. Dumb fucker called me a noob for not moving. I don't like randoms talking to me. I certainly don't want to be in a 32 player VoiP channel.
