Being a noob in Bad Company can be worse than your first day of school. So I thought that some of us Battlefield vets might give you new folks a friendly hand.
First, a few basics. The names on the scoreboard that are light blue are your squad. These are the only people that you can vocally communicate with. These are also the only people that you can spawn with. A cohesive squad is easily the most potent ingredient for having success as an Attacker.
The next tip involves the red dot that appears over an enemies head. If you are wondering about the inconsistent nature of this red marker, I've got the answer. This marker only appears to you when an enemy takes damage, or when a sniper class uses a motion sensor. This holds true for you as well. So be aware that when you take "hostile" damage, the whole enemy team can now see your red dot.
As an Attacker, the goal is to destroy the gold crates on each section of each map (hopefully most of you are well aware of this much). This can be done in a wide variety of ways. One way is to stand adjacent to and arm the crates with the B button. But any of the weapons in the game can damage the crate. The two small meters at the top-center of the screen represent each crates "health".
Lastly, here are a couple basic Attacker tactics. First, be an effective squad. If you or one of your squad can get relatively close to a crate, your squad can spawn at that position. If you're close, be a smart team mate and tell your other squad members to squad spawn with you before you assault the crate. If you are using the sniper class, be a good team mate and find a position that isn't miles from the crates, or a position that will put your squad without cover the second they leave you.
Final tip, if you can hit the crate with rockets or tank rounds, there is no need to move any closer. You can take out a crate at 300 yds if you are hitting it. Two team mates hitting a crate with rockets, can destroy the crate in under 60 seconds. Or a tank driver with a support class repairing the tank while the driver is firing on a crate, can put a devastating attack on a crate.
Anyone else that would like to add more in-depth strategies, or squad etiquette tips feel free.

One strategy that usually works well is to have a group of people playing as the Specialist class charge the crates while the rest of the team provides covering fire. Once the specialists get to the crates they can either A)Plant the charge or B)Throw some C4 on it, back up to a safe distance, and detonate it. B is usually quicker, but you have to be more careful in making sure you don't get caught in the blast yourself.
