    Battlefield: Bad Company

I admit that I never was into the Battlefields on PC, I was always a Counter Strike kinda dude. (untill it got dumb). So i was kinda meh about playing this on my Consoles. But i have to admit, it kinda surprised me. I actually played Battlefield when it was on the last gen consoles, and thought the singleplayer was really lackluster. In fact, i would go so far as to say it was just filler. This time around, that is not the case. While not on the quality of say a Halo, its still a pretty good Single Player experince. The story begins with the main character Preston marlowe (you) being transfered to B (Bad) Company. this is the division where all the screwups and knuckleheads get dumped as exspendable assets which is why they have the highest Mortality rate in all the Army. after the first mission, your team happens upon mercenaries known as acta non verba who are known as the worlds deadliest army. storys tell the the legionere pays his troops in Gold bars, and that begins your treasure hunt for the rest of the game. after seriously messing up on a mission (ie you invaded a neutral country adn now the armys pissed) your squad is considered dead or awol by th earmy, meaning, officaly, you dont exist. now that your pretty much dead to everyone, that means you can do whatever the hell you want. so what does that mean? go hunting for gold of course! You then proceed to missions where your hunting down the gold, wiping out any Mercs you find along the way. until the eventual conclusion. (im not gonna spoil it for ya) I like the light heartedness tone of the game, and it was a blast blowing random buildings up. If a enemy was behind a wall, I just lob a grenade at it and hes toast. Also, the dialouge is pretty descent, while chessy at time. Theres some hit or miss jokes, but most of them kinda miss the mark. Still, its a good experince. The controls for the vechiles are kinda weirdly configured, with the left trigger being the accelaration and the bumpers being the reverse for both controllers. and as expected in most games with Helicopters, it performs ok, but not great (but certainly easier than the PC battlefields). The leangth of the singleplayer is pretty short, about one sitting if you have nothing better to do all day.Now Multiplayer is where you want to be. Battlefield on the PC was built on online play, and this is no exceptions. While I still prefered COD 4s Multiplayer, this is still a above par online game. like COD 4, you get XP for kills, and the game ran pretty lag free for me on both consoles. I was suprised to see that when ever I wanted to get into a game with PSN, it was pretty much was able to join a game whenever i wanted to, which is more than I could say for most PS3 online games. As reported, the 360 version does tend to have a bit more lag than the PS3 version online, but theres a fix coming. Also, theres some rather nasty screen tearing on both versions. while not a game breaker, its still annoying.

for those wondering the differences between the two versions, its rather sparce. There are some Differences in color tone and such. The 360 version seems to have a better color tone (the PS3 versions seems a bit grey) however i thought the PS3 version had more detail to it. but the PS3 version did seem to have a bit more AA issues. Both looked fine, however if I had to pick one personally, it would probaly be the 360 version mainly because of the online community and I thought it looked a tad better. The controllers work fine with both. The PS3 version does have a install (but its only 466 mbs, which is quit small compared to most installs on the syestem)

Unleash havoc on the battlefield like never before. 0

In late 2006, Electronic Arts released Battlefield 2142 on the PC to relative success. Two years later, the Battlefield series came to consoles with the release of Battlefield: Bad Company. In Bad Company, you'll be utilizing Dice's new Frostbite engine to destroy your way through a somewhat short single-player and an addicting multiplayer experience. Though Bad Company is quite different from its Battlefield cousins in both story and presentation, minus a few small annoyances, it's a great shoo...

Wanna blow stuff up? Get Bad Company. 0

If I wanted to make this review short and sweet, I'd probably just say "If you like blowing stuff up and killing a bunch of people while doing it, then Battlefield Bad Company is the game for you." But since I like to add a bit of professionalism to my reviews, I'll delve a bit more into the game and give you a more enlightened point of view on this first-person shooter. Battlefield Bad Company comes from developer EA DICE and publisher Electronic Arts and chronicles the adventures of B-Company...
