Controled Destrution
Battlefield Bad Company is a great game and a must play but it is not without flaws. It was marketed as a game with total destruction but when the game was put under more scruntiny the developers began to call it tactical destruction. In other words explosions are generic and pre-determined in ways. Say if shot the near the corner of a building it would blow up, and if you shot the corner of another building in a random place it would blow up and would be identical to the the other hole in the other buliding. Its not a stressed based system with real physics involved. Also you cant destroy the frames of buildings, support wall and floors. That may seem all very negative but it makes sense because if you were playing a multiplayer match and every thing was destroyed it would just be a barren flat land with no places of intrest. The desuction is fun though and it leads to new and fun ways of doing things. The game also has some great characters in the singleplayer, Haggrad being my favourite. Sadly the game has no co-op even though it seems like it was built for co-op bar one mission. It has a classic battlefield feel with large open landscapes to be explored with collectables and gold in each level to be gathered. Also the death system is progressive which means if you die you restart from a checkpoint but everyone you killed and everything blew up is stil there. The multiplayer only has one mode called gold rushwith one team tring to defend gold while the others try to destroy it. Its a good mode. All the guns are available freee of charge but for some you have to log on to ea.com and give them your details so that they can spam you to hell and give two or three guns. All in all battlefield BC was a good enough game to fill my shooter needs.
PS: the game sounds unreal
