Overview
Beyond Dark is a long-running real-time space strategy game set in a huge persistent RTS universe with millions of systems and planets to explore. Each galaxy has a unique history defined by the thousands players who fought and allied in the race for survival and domination.
Inspired by early space strategy games such as VGA Planets and Stars!, but also by non-RTS games with persistent galaxies such as Elite Dangerous, Beyond Dark allows players to set their plans in-motion and come back later to see how they have played out.
The game aims to encourage long-term strategic thinking where players can adopt any combination of military might, diplomacy, trade, or more stealthily strategies such as piracy and espionage?
