Like "Bioshock", it is one of the greatest video games ever made.

"Bioshock" is considered by many to be one of the greatest video games ever made. Lead designer Ken Levine's sci-fi-themed horror opus transcended the boundaries of the FPS genre with two major aspects; the gorgeous but horrifying world of Rapture and the exceptional story featuring the memorable antagonist Andrew Ryan. In many ways, "Bioshock Infinite" is like a remake of the original concept. The setting and scenario has changed, but the basic plot is the same: a man with a shady pack enters into a hidden utopia of the past that has gone mad. There are references to the first game, but "Infinite" mainly sticks to its own crazy tale. Thankfully, "Bioshock Infinite" can be considered an equal to "Bioshock". It is one of the great console games ranking along side "Red Dead Redemption", "The Last of Us" and "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves".

The first thing you'll notice about "Infinite" is that it has a much brighter color palette than "Bioshock". That is because the game is set in a city located above the clouds during the early 1900's. The city is called Columbia and it was founded by one Zachary Comstock, a creepy religious zealot who makes it a refuge for citizens who desire to escape the "evils" of post-Revolution America. It is a beautiful creation, but like Rapture, it is tearing at the seams due to an occuring civil war fueled by a power struggle. The protagonist, an ex-solider turned private investigator, Booker Dewitt is in the tradition of the Film Noir detective. He is a flawed character who tries to find redemption by helping Elizabeth, a genetic experiment, find out the secret of her existence. Towards the middle of game, there is a revelation of multi-verses and "tears" in the fabric of time and space and these story threads help give the game great depth and complexity.

Gameplay is similar to past games, but also quite different due to the change in location. Once again, you can upgrade and purchase firearms and equip "Vigors" (the "Plasmids" of Columbia) to unleash special attacks on the enemies. However, combat has a much faster pace, more in league with "Call of Duty" than with the original "Bioshock". And for better or worse, there is no hacking featured in the game. Instead, you can use "tears" to open up different combat options. In addition, Columbia's rail system does keep things interesting as you can ride on it "Ratchet and Clank"-style as you transverse from one area to another in the game.

As stated before, like in "Bioshock", there are special genetic powers that can be obtained. The elementals of fire, water and electricity are all represented in the game. Some vigors are defensive, but most are used for attacks and they can all be upgraded as you progress. "Infinite" also introduces RPG-like equipment which can add abilities such as making reloads faster, increasing damage and adding fire to melee attacks. You can always equip up to four different abilities at anytime. "Bioshock Infinite" doesn't include any multiplayer modes which can sometimes be a pointless addition. This is an opus of master storytelling with classic characters and an awesome great new world. "Bioshock Infinite" is one of the all-time greats. If there is a complaint I have is the lack of stealth segments, but overall, this is a great sci-fi FPS.

From the very beginning Bioshock Infinite manages to pull you into it's amazing world and doesn't let go. If you had any feelings (love, hate, mildly indifferent) towards the first two games, you will feel right at home here, but with more than enough new to keep you very much interested. If you didn't like or never played the first two, then you will find this game to be different, enthralling, action packed and most importantly FUN.Bioshock Infinite doesn't rewrite the book on first person sho...

In the third installment of the BioShock series you will find that you will be traversing areas not under water, but in the sky. That's right folks this adventure takes place in the floating city of Columbia. You are going to play the part of Booker DeWitt, a once great detective that is down on his luck, and who has been tasked with capturing the girl Elizabeth. By bringing her back to New York all of your old debts will be forgiven, but there's a catch, you're going to have to get through the...
