As Black Sea Studios
Established in 2001 after a part of the Haemimont crew (along with the lead designer Veselin Handjiev) quits the company and start a new one, based in Sofia, Bulgaria. The company is mostly popular for its games Knights of Honor and WorldShift.
As Crytek Black Sea
In 2008 after the release of WorldShift, Crytek acquired Black Sea Studios and renamed it Crytek Black Sea.
Restructuring and Possible Closure
On December 20th, 2016 Crytek released a press release in where they stated they would be concentrating their future development efforts in the Frankfurt and Kiev studios. Other studios affected by the changes included Crytek Seoul, Crytek Shanghai, Crytek Istanbul, and Crytek Budapest.
As Creative Assembly Sofia
On March 7th, 2017 Sega announced the acquisition of the studio renaming it with the Creative Assembly banner, a subsidiary that at the time had already grown over 500 people in size.
