    No, they're totally separate with Blacksite being more of a reimaging of the franchise than anything else.

    The only thing it has in common with the original arcade light gun games is the phrase "Area 51" and the publisher.
     
    And aliens (broadly speaking).
     
    I haven't played the other Area 51 game (by the same developer and publisher, featuring David Duchovny), so I can't comment on whether it is a sequel to that game (even spirtually), but my understanding is that it wasn't supposed to be.
