So I gave 'er the old "One-Eyed Pirate"
If you know what I'm talking about.
Game » consists of 33 releases. Released Sep 18, 2012
Why not. In today's world where people flip the game back to gamestop, I think its a decent idea to push one out ~ month after release. I know it will make me consider getting the season pass because I will probably want to play them all.
I take it this is going to be the ''zombie Island'' equivalent? A small slice of additional stuff, but one that isn't suited to you carrying over your maxed out character -- least judging by the trophies. I'm still interested to see how good it is, because I've currently got two alts atm, but I'm more excited to hear about the actual post-game stuff with additional level caps and such.
Christ, this seems like a quick turn-around. Still, hey, if it lets me level up my Siren in prep for the final boss some, works for me.
I can't wait to play it with the new mechromancer. If there is one sure deal out there to risk a season pass on its Borderlands and i'm glad I made that choice.
So where's the level cap patch for this DLC? I've got a 50 Axton and a 34 Zero, and I honestly prefer playing Axton.
I'm astonished by the people gaging the DLC content by the number of achievements it offers. For starters because it means that people actually do care about those and that is beyond (my) comprehension but more importantely because BL2 doesn't have that much of said achievement in the first place.
As for the early release they said they were going to to 4 zone DLCs by june 2013 so its not that odd to see one now especialy if this is a good one. It will sell them season pass (or indeed stop sales if poorly done) and they will be able to chill a little more and then release those DLCs every 2 or 3 month and space it with non zone DLCs (Pitchford confirmed them via twitter. Go figure what the hell it will be and it could very quicly ramp up the price of the whole game a make a GOTY more interesting if you didn't picked it up yet because june 13 isn't that far away)
I wonder if they'll increase the cap? I sure hope so I need like 3 more skill points to make the perfect Commando. Plus, with more skills in BL2 than there was in BL1, it makes more sense to increase the cap quicker. The cap in BL1 made you way too overpowered because there weren't as many skills.
That seems... kind of grossly fast. While this may do it for some people who this really got it's hooks in to, I just don't really want more BL2 right now. I haven't finished the main game and I don't feel any desire to come back right now between Dishonored, RE6, X-COM, ACIII rapidly approaching.
It's cool that they're turning around content quicker, but man, releasing it right now seems like it'd just kind of get lost in the mire of season releases?
But then again, what the hell do I know about marketing, maybe this is actually prime time for DLC.

Sadly, it really is. Studies show that the sooner a developer releases DLC, the higher the attach rate. This is also the reason that the idea of a "season pass" is only going to get more popular. I mean, we already have a thread on this forum titled "now is the time to ditch Borderlands." The longer they wait, the more people are going to finish the game, and the more potential returns they'll have on their hands.

This is what I was hoping to find.
Damn it. I have to get off my ass (or on it) and still finish a first playthrough with at least one of my characters.

They make it pay the same as Gaige! Come on, it's obvious that the Mechromancer DLC is Overpriced!
agreed ... I wish they would have given her to the community as a gift, especially since the game seems to do really good saleswise. Maybe give it to Preorder-People a week early or something. But paying for her ... idk.

All you had to do was pre-order to get her free though. If you already have the game a month in, why not just pre-order in the first place?
