Anyone excited for this game?
I was, like, four years ago. Or however long that thing's been in development. Feels like it's been forever.
Yep, still fucking stoked. I'm digging everything about it, the movement, the weapons, the art style, the design, the color, everything. It's almost within reach.

BA BOOM!
It's difficult to be excited for it because the meat of the game is still very nebulous at this point. A lot of the gameplay footage they've shown hasn't revealed the game as having more than a narrow, CoD-specific style of fast-paced, small-environment gameplay with some neat gimmicks. But it also hasn't definitively told me that that's all the game is.
And what about the SP/coop? What are they? From what they've said, the unlock system works and carries across SP and multiplayer. So are the SP/coop basically just glorified bot match type stuff, to go along with that parity? I wouldn't care for that too much, especially if the style of gameplay ends up being what I described above. Or are they more involved than that?
Honestly, I can't tell what this game is. What is its structure? What kind of interactivity is there? Is it all guns and shooting people, all running around quickly in small spaces shooting the dude on the other team when he comes around the corner before he shoots you, or is it more dynamic than that? I feel like Splash Damage is being very ambiguous about the scope of their game and how representative of the full game the footage out there thus far is. The only thing they have been clear about is that there's parkour and customization. Outside of that, I don't have a clear sense of what this game is really like.
The game looks cool, but so far I've been more excited about the character creator than anything else. Does that count? ^^
Don't know if I will be able to afford it in May, especially with all the other games coming out, but I will try.
"In all likelihood it will be along those lines: bot matches with an overarching story between a series of maps, similar to what they did in ET:QW. Maps will probably consist of an attacking and defending force with the attackers trying to progress through a series of objectives.

Personally I am looking forward to Brink, I liked ET:QW and I love character / weapon customization. The whole SMART parkour-esque system is intriguing, but it's something that you can only really judge after playing with it and seeing how natural it feels.
If you want a deep story driven fps though these aren't the droids you're looking for.
Everyone that has demoed the game has really enjoyed it. I dig the art style and the way you get xp for doing things besides killing fools. I just hope there's sniping...
I was but the graphics took a big dive whenever they actually started showing console graphics. I hope they really improve it before the release. The gameplay is interesting and the ideas seemed cool. I'm really hoping that they can iron out a few of their issues. Really the biggest problem though was the game disappeared. They showed it too early, got hype big and then it just vanished.
