They stopped taking part in the same universe when COD4 came out when they started making up story instead of basing it on historic battles.

You mean the battle of "holy fuck the russians invaded because no one, at any point, in like three days, decided to look up" wasn't real?

The big plot of Modern Warfare 2. Blackwatch or whateverthehellthatgenericshitwascalled managed to somehow sneak in the entire Russian army into the heart of America. During the invasion, someone from the military contacts a radar monitor and says "Hey, look, this is probably just an error, but we saw half of Russia on the radar a moment ago. Confirm." and then you hear back a lightheated "TEEHEE, aww man it's cool, it was just an error bro, you know. Life is funny like that, man." And then the military dude was like "Noted. But could you do us a favor and take a look for yourself?" and then all you hear is "OH MY GOD THEY'RE INVADING THEY'RE HERE THEY'RE HERE" and then garblegarblegarble static.

@N7: Sorry I misread your comment I thought you were talking about the games before COD 4. I still loved the Cod4 up until Black ops stories though.

The Black Ops campaign has been the best so far, followed by MW and parts of MW2. World at War was okay. I preferred that game online, probably more than any other call of duty. MW3 was a travesty.

You scoff now, but when the Russians DO invade Burgertown, we will be well and truly fucked.

Where will we get our generic not-Burger-King hamburgers, sir? WHERE!?

You sir, know your shit! World at War was like crack for me and my friends online, went back to a couple of months ago and it's like hackers playground. A damn shame.

Haha, yeah. World at War was extremely fun. I don't know what it was, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
