What do you mean can they ever live up to that? They also made MW2 and 3 you know? Each was a major improvement over the previous edition, so yes they already have 'lived up to that' and will again. Can't wait for GHOSTS.

Meh, haven't played CoD since MW3 and that was only to play the story and then return it to GameStop the same day

And yet, the only change to the Call of Duty series made after COD4 was that the credits got shorter and shorter because people got fired here and there.

I definitely think, thinking about the way narrative worked in something like Black Ops 2 compared to the other CoD games this generation, the series has made strides since CoD4, both in terms of single player and multiplayer.

I don't think Ghosts is a good subtitle. I think it's kind of a lame attempt to one-up the "edginess" of Black Ops.

I for one am thankful for this terribly un-creative series because it brought millions of people into gaming. Thanks to this brand, it's easy for me to get new friends into games and have them playing co-op and multiplayer with me and having a blast. They all know about Call of Duty and think they're gaming experts, which makes them more prone to hold the mouse.

Always start by showing them the new Call of Duty, then you can gradually ease them into good games. Before the CoD craze, this was a mission impossible.

I played CoD 5 zombies with my roommate for two days, he was reluctant to play anything outside FIFA and NFS until I showed him zombies. Now two weeks later we're playing Torchlight 2 and stealth games, among other "core" stuff.

CoD knows how to hit that sweet spot that makes non-gamers wanna jump in, it's quite fascinating how quality intimidates them yet this shitty brand intrigues them.

I dunno MW2 was pretty great, probably the best roller coaster campaign I have played. Spec Ops was some really great co-op whether online or on the couch, from racing snowmobiles to doing MGS type stealth missions in the fog. Online got really crazy with some of the best COD maps out of all the games IMO, piloting that AC-130 for the 1st time was a real rush, and experiencing the first Nuke was a real WTF moment, but all that was ruined by the hacking which was a shame. COD 4 was really good and revolutionary but I fricken loved MW2. I thought MW3 was garbage though and Black Ops 2's campaigns had some alright moments and some nice graphics for a game running at 60fps on a 8 year old console, but zombies is nothing like some good Spec Ops missions.
