I thought that the gameplay was too clunky and that the single player experience was marred by weak stealth sections and dumb climbing portions with the whiny Billy Candle. Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is a lot of things. The gameplay is pretty average with the exception of features like the slow-mo sequences, and character selection. The on rails parts break up the bulk of the game. The gameplay grows thin and by the end, but it ends in time before it starts to become tedious. I've been hungry for a good "western" themed game for years now. And games of this genera are few and far between. So, despite being cold on the original CoJ, I quickly purchased CoJ2: Bound in Blood the day it was released based solely on how great the graphics looked in trailer videos. This game, while delivering on graphics, is very weak in every other aspect. The shooting just doesn't feel right at all, and the enemies get very hard in the later stages of the game. It started out ok but it took a wrong turn with the same old FPS formula. The characters interactions were ok when they talked to each other but not during game play. I am not a big co op player but this game should have been. The story would have changed a little but the overall game would have been better. There are parts the work really well, other parts that almost work well, and large chunks where it falls flat on its face.I agree with Jeff's review that the story is one of the game's strongest points, but I still found it deeply flawed in many respects.
