Camouflage is a means of staying hidden by altering the texture and/or pattern of a person, animal or object to conceal them against their environment. Camouflage can be found naturally in plants and animals, and it is commonly used by militaries to assist in covert operations.

Military application and practices

A single operative or small force can successfully infiltrate a heavily fortified facility or set up a deadly ambush with the use of effective camouflage. Elite snipers are able to terminate high value targets with the use surrounding leaves on their Ghille Suits. Applying simple face paint can greatly increase ones' chances of survival in the field of operation.
