An addicting 3-D flight survival game that takes advantage of the iPhone's accelerometer with it's simple left/right controls.

    Simple Controls. Addicting gameplay. TOUGH.

There really isn't a whole lot to say about Cube Runner. What started out as a test graphics engine for the iPhone has turned into  a very simple yet fun game.

Cube Runner use an extremely simple concept that many old-fashioned arcade games have: If you touch something, you die. As you glide through the world in your triangular ship, you are constantly moving forward and accruing points. Your speed gets faster, cubes become more prevalent, and occasional the entire graphical look of the game suddenly changes to throw you off.

The beauty of this game comes in the ridiculously simply control scheme. Simply tilt your phone right or left like a steering wheel to turn that direction. That's it. You're only as quick as your driving skills in this one. Move back and forth to avoid cubes and navigate paths.

The downside of this game is the lack of sound or other features. The developer has added the ability to use his level editor to create new paths, but the fact that you have to upload it and host it yourself is kind of weak. Also, having to enter the URL from the game to access your map pack is a bit tedious as well.

Overall, it's obvious this game was designed more to prove what the iPhone is capable of, and because of that, I give it a lot of respect. It's a good thing this game is free, as it's a funny game to avert for a few minutes, but as levels progress (and with no save or level-selector) it becomes frustrating knowing that when you're done, you'll be starting completely over again.
