Traverse the nine circles of hell in Visceral's action game named after the first cycle of Dante Alighieri's epic poem The Divine Comedy.
What is the best circle of Hell?
Heresy, even though that level was basically a puzzle it freaked me out the most. The screams from the human wall were insane i was disturbed while playing that circle.
I can tell you Anger is my least favorite level, and the only puzzle (the one with the gears and the platform with the fire blazier coming up as you move it) that pissed me off.
"Lust...almost turned me on. "
Me too. *walks away in shame*
I love how nobody votes for fraud. I thought it was an all right level, it is getting some really bad press though.
I liked Violence and how they split the circle into three sections. Anyways, has anyone looked up Dante's Purgatory and Dante's Paradise? Apparently those are split off into multiple tiers as well, each area themed after flaws for purgatory, and virtues for paradise (sins for inferno). I can see why the sequels are certainly possible, but from reading about them, I don't see how the gameplay would translate to less violent parts of the three 'kingdoms.' Let's say Lucifer does take over the kingdoms, then wouldn't it just be Inferno all over again?
I really liked Violence. Not only did I think it had one of the more profound reveals of the game, but it was a solid level that contained a lot of really good combat setpieces.
One thing I hated was having to push that platform up the hill whilst never-ending enemies spawned.
Thinking back, I liked Greed as well. But really, Fraud and Treachery kind of get weak. I liked how Treachery was frozen, but they don't utilize it and Fraud, the developers just ran out of steam.
Dont have a favorite and I'll tell ya why.
First, I enjoy the game and I am not bashing it at all. Please dont read what I say to mean that.
Anyway, all the rings seemed to go by very quickly. Seemed to give you very little time to really notice you've moved on. This was both good and bad as on the good side of things your moving along and you see the gluttony stage, and your like WTF, and move on and end up in heresy and its comepletely different and you now have only vague rememberence of gluttony and your still not sure of what you saw but it was weird as hell. On the bad side, the rings feel small and less fleshed out. Dont know if thats bad, like i said it leaves you with an impression so your still thinking about it but the game keeps moving forward so you dont get to savor the oddity really of the circles.
I guess what I mean to say is you arent given the chance to become used to them. This doesnt hurt the game, it keeps the tension and action going, but I found it weird... like a flyby gremlin when your flying a plane or something.
"What the hell was that?"
"A man.... on the wing... some... thing"
ehh i probably got that quote wrong, whatever. =P

You dont think when they developed fraud that they were just trying to add some variety?
