my psn is lorddrogon. there are alot more enimies on screen this time around and their more agressive. just got beat the gargoyles boss and headed to the darkroot forest. Its too damn tough damn here!! the foes are insane, this can't be the next area to go next. where do i go now?

Look around at all the posts. There's a ton here that give help to new players. Read it over and then ask specific questions about the tips they give.

You can try being a man and dealing with it.

Well beating the Belfry Gargoyles is a pretty good start. Darkroot Garden isn't difficult, but you may wish to try Lower Undead Burg first. You can gain access to the area by unlocking the locked door after the Taurus Demon.

I am not up to that part yet but I did watch a livestream of the game. I'm assuming you rang the first bell? I think you can try to go underground now and look for the 2nd bell instead of going through the forest. Also, do you have the Drake sword? If not have dex of at least 12 so you can wield the short bow properly. Buy 50ish arrows and shoot the tail of the Red Dragon from under it the bridge. There are videos of how to do this and it will make your life a lot easier. Good luck!

@gla55jAw: thanks but it seems kinda cheep killing the dragon that way, id rather fight it man to man in a spactacular air duel. wish the game had a hint system as to where to go next, like some kind of fortune teller like there was in okami. bs about the forest not being hard

The forest isn't hard...you are not leveled for it man. They are giving you answers you just are not taking in the information

Getting the Drake Sword doesn't kill the dragon. You just shoot its tail off and receive a very powerful early game sword. The dragon is still there afterwards.

Exactly. It's more of a secret. Don't worry the dragon will still be there to burn you up.

@fartway: Also, what is your level? Class? Equipment/Armor? Depending on all of this you may need to level up some more and look for some better equipment before you move on.

@gla55jAw: i have two characetrs both are at lvl15. one is a pyro with a war pick and pig helm, the other is a warrior with the gargoyle halbred and a basterd sword

Spectacular air fights with dragons in Dark Souls would end with you being eaten by one or more creatures.

Your best bet is to keep working your way through undead parish. Most people say that ranged is better for beginners since you have a few moments more to react. When all else fails, try a different strategy, since this game is all about making you learn...in the most brutal way possible.
