I just dropped a summon sign infront of the church in undead burg, near the bridge that leads to the bonfire and blacksmith. Need help with the bell gargoyles.

In order for someone to play with you they will need to be within 10% of your Soul Level AND they need to be on the same P2P Hub as you. There are a bunch of nodes, chances are anyone that reads this won't be in yours... It's an awful system and it cripples Dark Souls imo.

Apparently being in the same Covenant makes it more likely to be placed on the same node.

When I was human last night I was able to summon Knight Solaire and a player to help me contend with the Gargoyles. The summoning signs were right before the light door leading to the bastards. We went in and did some 3 on 2 action and destroyed them with ease. It was the most exhilarating gameplay experience of my life. I hope you share this experience and get some good phantoms summoned.
