Goldie murdered her. The Bonfire isn't lit because she is the keeper of it. Later on you can get revenge and bring her back.

In Anor Lando you can invade his world, kill him, get her soul back and revive her, and get his kickass armor.

No, but this is just a quest. You get a great set of armor if you kill him.

Make sure that after you kill him, you don't immediately use her soul to upgrade your estus...like I did.

His armor is shit. His ring is what you want.

but you get his ring if you kill him before he kills her.

and you can upgrade your flask in a couple of ways; if you join the chaos servant covenant, she'll upgrade it, there is some lady in Anor Londo who'll do it...

I believe it happens whether you free him or not. You can stop him by just killing him before he kills her, but you get more loot if you let him kill her, then get your revenge later.

See, that's what all the guides were saying a week ago. When I revenge killed him though, he dropped the ring and the 5 humanity, and then his armor set was on a corpse a little further on.

I mentioned the flask thing because, from what I understand, the Firekeeper Soul you get for killing him is the one you have to bring back to Firelink to revive the Firekeeper. I never thought it would get that specific, so I used the soul at the Anor Londo Firekeeper as soon as I got it. So basically, no reviving Firelink for me.

I guess I skipped that bonfire. The only one I activated was the once inside the castle. directly after the two archers.

The bonfire that you start at. It's right behind it, it's tricky to spot to see. The guy that tells you to ring the two bells and see what happens, when facing him there's a stairway to his left. Go down there and the fire keeper lady is on your left behind bars.
