    Darkened Skye

Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Jan 27, 2002

You might think it's a generic fantasy action-adventure game by the cover, but it's actually an elaborate advergame for Skittles candies.

It's better than you might think!

I've never been into games. I'm more of an RPGer type (ComicVine). And so, when my brother got this game for me, I really didn't want to play it. But seeing as how there was nothing else to do, I did. In the beginning of the game, you are Skye the main character. The first cinema of the game, is rather hilarious. :Grunks have captured a man with brightly colored shoes: Well, as the game starts off, you have a staff, and you meet Draak, a hilarioius little gargoyle. He can pop in and out of the staff at will.

As the game progresses, you travel to different worlds, such as Ogmire a city trapped within time. On your quest, you must collect the rainbow prisms from the different worlds that you have sworn to protect them. (You start out with the orange prism)

On to the opposition. Most of the creatures that you face in the game can be disspatched with a simple swing of your staff, or a shot from your skittles magick. As in Wymedrakes, flying monsters that can be taken out with a couple staff hits or prismatic pulse.) But others are really almost impossible to beat. Such as the bone monsters you find, and must kill in the land of Stoneheath. These creatures are necessary to defeat in order to move on to the next level. (Tip: Use diminish, and Lightning) Other creatures that are hard to beat are the Crystal Monsters, you must use cleanse evil to kill them, and they are fast and can hit you from afar so be stealthy.

Levels: Every level on the game progresses to get harder. Ogmire is pretty easy once you figure out the city, which won't take long. Zen'Jai can be tricky, becuase you will feel lost a lot of the time. Stoneheath is the hardest level of the game bar none: You will have to switch spells a LOT, and then you will have to remember the landscape.

The next hardest level within the game is definatley when you will need the walkthorugh or you will NEVER get done with the level (Tip: Don't put garlic over the first vampire coffin you will see in the graveyard...DON"T DO IT, or you might have to start the game over"

The last level, when you finally fight the antagonist of the game, Necroth...You will find out a lot about yorself as Skye, and your life. But, when it comes to Necroth, getting to him is the hardest part of the challenge...Then it's a peice of cake killing him..

The skittles aren't most outrageous thing about the game. You get really cool spells, most of which you wont use at all, because they're impracticle. The best part of the game is the banter between Skye, and Draak...All in all, it's hillarious and enjoyable.
