I personally prefer the original. Source I believe took a lot of the skill out of the game and didn't ship with enough content to keep me happy.

I had a lot more fun with the original playing LAN, but Source is great as well.

I never played the original, even though I played Source for years. I feel ashamed!

Not at all! DoD: Source is a great multiplayer FPS.

Like the original more, but only by a small margin. My complaint with Source is it FEELS more random, sometimes in your favor and sometimes against you. In a way adding this randomness makes it a more beginner friendly game. In the original, it was a lot harder to get into. I remember taking so much of a beating when I first started playing DoD. Once I understood how to play properly I loved it! I still think Source is great. Before I got TF2 I was playing it on a pretty consistant basis and forgot about the original for a while. However, I agree with your statement Dakota about it taking the skill out.

I own both, but prefer Source since I played it before the original.

Definitely not. They just added a bunch of new steam achievements to source as well as a new map, and the original is as addicting as always. (And also Cheap)

I like source better but I do miss the the other weapons that the original had (and wished the British were in source).

Again sorry for the year late bump but my post does not warrant a new thread.
