We're at the halfway mark in the voting period and KT published the current results:

Current top 9 (i.e. would make it into the game if voting ended today):

• Kokoro – 8.3%
• Nyotengu – 7.2%
• Hitomi – 6.4%
• Momoji – 4.9%
• Lei Fang – 4.6%

Bottom bunch (i.e. wouldn't make it into the game if voting ended today):

• Helena – 4.2%
• Tina – 3.9%
• Mila – 3.0%
• Rachel – 1.7%
• Lisa – 1.7%
• Christie – 1.7%

Well, Lei Fang is holding on to the 9th spot so that means I can probably stop being so butthurt for now. Helena is still dangerously close though. The most (and, sadly, least) surprising thing however is that Marie Rose and Honoka have more than 30% of the total votes between them while three long time series regulars (Helena, Tina, and Christie) barely managed to get 10% between them. Momiji's popularity is somewhat surprising too because she seems like one of the more forgettable characters (both in DOA and Ninja Gaiden...).

Thoughts?

I never comment on this forum because it never works for some reason, but goddamn I'm going to give it a try this time and say:

I fucking live in Japan and what is this list? No Christie? What are you even doing Japan? Seriously.

(P.S. DOA was so close to being a great fighting game.)

I'm torn because I'm really happy that Hitomi is in the top 9 but I was also hoping that Mila would be too and there's no chance that she will now if I'm being realist.

Japan I like you, but, sometimes you really let me down...

Glad Honoka came second and glad Helena managed to get into the top 9. But the lack of Tina and Lisa bothers me. They were the perfect couple.

Err..Marie Rose and Honoka in the context of this game creeps me out. Their DOA Wiki pages state they are both 18 but that means fuck all in a western DOA release. On a Japanese poll though, it doesn't surprise me at all.

Kasumi, Ayane, Nyotengu, and Momiji? I'm sold. I feel bad for people that wanted Tina, Lisa, Leifang, etc.. they should've been in over silly girls like Marie Rose and Honoka.
