Dead Rising 2: Case West
Game » consists of 1 releases. Released Dec 27, 2010
In this downloadable epilogue to Dead Rising 2 (exclusively for the Xbox 360), Chuck Greene teams up with the original game's protagonist, Frank West, to infiltrate a Phenotrans facility and uncover a conspiracy between the Zombrex manufacturer and the zombie outbreaks.
Case West will require the full game of Dead Rising 2 to play.
Eurogamer has announced that unlike Case Zero, Case West won't be a stand-alone product. I actually think this is a load of shit. With the console versions being plagued with framerate and loading issues I was going to grab the PC version which eliminates those problems(cheaper as well). So not only can I not play Case West on PC but I can't even play it on 360 unless I buy a second copy of the game! What a joke. Capcom really dropped the ball on this one.
Why would you want to play something that takes place after the events of the game without having to play said game anyway?
" Why would you want to play something that takes place after the events of the game without having to play said game anyway? "I'll play the game. Not on 360 though. So basically if you don't have a 360 you can't play it. If you do have a 360 but prefer to buy the full version on PC or PS3, you're screwed as well.
" @Venatio said:"Capcom honoring that" probably translates into "Microsoft paying Capcom to honor that" in the real world." Why the hell is all the DR2 DLC exclusive anyway? "The first game was 360 exclusive so it might have to do with Capcom honoring that or something? Sounds stupid, I don't know. "

" @xyzygy said:Either way, it's exclusive. Such is business." @Venatio said:"Capcom honoring that" probably translates into "Microsoft paying Capcom to honor that" in the real world. I hate CAPCOM's excuse being that they are ''repaying'' all the fans of the original who bought it on the 360, as a little bonus for helping their new IP become a success. So, what? The money and support put towards the sequel on the PS3 doesn't matter? Exclusive games can be a real hex but one I can look past; exclusive DLC on the other hand for multiplatform games is absolute BS.
They're having it require the full game no doubt so people don't just skip the whole game altogether and get their fill from Case Zero and West. =/
"Why the hell is all the DR2 DLC exclusive anyway? "
So, if I gave 10 million dollars, would you sell your lemonade only to the people on the west side of town?
Wait this is news to everyone. I thought it was given, I mean why risk people skipping the full version.
I can't wait for this, surprised they passed up the chance to have it launch on Halloween or the week of like RDR.
The exclusivity is what it is, I woulda thought we'd all have seen enough by now to know how this stuff works, but I digress.
I"ll be curious to see how this decision pans out for them. I can't really see many people buying the full game for the sake of getting Case: West, while I can totally see them selling a lot fewer copies of Case: West by making the full game a requirement.
Joystiq has confirmed with a Capcom representative that you will not need Dead Rising 2 to play Case West. See here.
" @Abyssfull: awww someone's upset at business practices that don't favor them. I'm sure Microsoft had nothing to do with this. Capcom is probably racially prejudiced against teh sony. "Asians hating on asians?
