I said this game rocked, even before it came out, why? Because it looked and sounded great!

Normally, I would play devil's advocate and argue.  But Dead Space really is that good.  Amen!

I liked this game too, my only complaint is it's a bit short, but that makes it a great rental for anyone who hasn't played it yet. Other survival horror/action horror games you should try are Silent hill 2, Resident Evil 2 and my personal favorite "The Suffering", goddamn that game was good, fantastic use of sound, definitely check it out!

Have you played it with headphones on? If not, you haven't played it.

Amen, brother. If it's any testament to my love of this game, every time there's a thread about Dead Space I feel compelled to give my $0.02 of ranting admiration for it. I don't think I've done that with any other game, with the possible exception of Portal.

The best way to play Dead Space is with all the lights out and the volume turned up.  If you can get someone who is very jumpy it helps too.   
 
BTW playing with a maxed out Force Gun is SICK!!

Surround sound headphones with subs. Always best for that.

Yep, it was one of the good ones. What a fantastic journey. Except for the gun turrets, grrrr.

It really is a ridiculously awesome game. I enjoyed it very much.

It is one of the few games i have a platinum trophy in where i enjoyed every single second of it. from the first few minutes to the end of my 3rd playthrough. could not love this game anymore.

I thought the game was good but not amazing.  Some stuff was pretty awesome, but the mission design (exit train, go push a button and kill a bunch of dudes, come back to train, rinse and repeat) was just lame. Also it was a bit too Japanese for me.
