I would have posted the redone opening cinematic, but it's largely the same, just higher res. Search it out yourself if you wanna see it.

It's real weird how the opening is identical but every shot of Anna's corpse seems to be redone. Wonder why that got priority over the epilepsy-inducing grass texture. Either way, the new prologue and epilogue sound exciting. Replaying through the game shouldn't be so bad either with the improved controls.

Finally getting a chance to play this. I am excite.

Is it weird that I think it actually looks a little better with the filter? Without it the game looks a lot more... generic, whereas the strange colouring of everything added to its surrealist nature. Anywhoo it's crazy how nostalgic I got thanks to that trailer, considering it's only like 3 years old. I began to remember all of the fond memories I had going through that game and how completely enraptured I was with it. The gameplay is archaic, dull and not at all fun to play, but I think that speaks to how it transcends into something more when I still found it to be one of my favourite experiences with a game in 2010.

I'm assuredly not going to be able to get that same amount of entertainment with the Director's Cut, but I'm still getting it anyway out of obligation, and because I'm highly curious to see what work they've done concerning the improvements and the additional content.

@yummylee: Is the lighting not just the time of day in the game-world? I remember it sometimes being the purp and sometimes "normal" as the DC screenshots show off.

It's not just a filter also, the textures and general lighting is improved, the other screenshots show that off better.
