DEFCON Achieves What Few Games Have Done Before 0

DEFCON: Everybody Dies is a game developed and published by Introversion Software Limited, an independent developer based out of England. DEFCON's subtitle, Everybody Dies, is a pretty accurate description for a game based around nuclear warfare on a global scale. Players are tasked with annihilating one another in the form of nuclear fallout, gaining or losing points based on catastrophic death tolls that usually reach well into the millions.   DEFCON at its core is a real time strategy game, b...

Global Thermonuclear War is taken to a whole new level. 0

It can be safely assumed that it is not many people’s dream to devastate the world in a cataclysmic nuclear war. Well, Ronald Reagan and his Soviet counterpart may have been the general exception to that rule. After all, the idea is simply M.A.D. (Mutual Assured Destruction, or a lose/lose scenario), surely? Defcon: REVIEW 0

Review: DefconDefcon is a small time indie RTS based on the 1983 film WarGames starring a young Matthew Broderick & Ally Sheedy. - Shall we play a game?- Love to. How about Global Thermonuclear War?You might remember a certain 1983 movie entitled WarGames. I was a little kid when it came out, but I got the message: War is bad, computers are awesome. Well, that’s the message I got anyway.Produced at the height of Cold War, WarGames told a story of a young computer hacker gaining access to the A.I. controlling American nuclear arsenal and almost annihilating the entire planet in the process. The final stand-off took place i...

A clever idea worth checking out. If only to nuke the world. 0

The ShortPros- Nuclear war simulator based off the movie Wargames- Builds a decent sense of tension as it slowly ticks up to DEFCON 5- Fight on many fronts, against computers and people, and mobilize a variety of units- Unique RTS experience with more focus on immobile missile launchers rather than units- User interface is relatively simple and easy to get a hang ofCons- Can take a while to fully grasp the strategies of the game- Often winning feels a bit more like luck than actual strategy- Fun...
