    Overview

Destination Earthstar is a NES space sim released exclusively in the North American market by Absolute (via their development studio Imagineering) and Acclaim Entertainment. It is functionally similar to Atari's Star Raiders: the player has a dwindling amount of fuel and ammo, and must traverse the immediate sector removing threats while remembering to restock at space stations.

The ultimate goal of the game, as the title suggests, is to find the star system that contains Earth; the player characters are humans whose ancestors were abducted many generations ago as slaves for a superior alien race, and have since earned emancipation and spaceships of their own. Their wish is to track down their planet of origin.
