    Overview

Devastator is a horizontally-scrolling mecha action game that alternates between on-foot shooter levels and flying shoot 'em up levels. It was developed by Wolf Team exclusively for the Japanese Mega CD platform. It is based on an anime license: the two-part OVA D-1 Devastator. The game frequently uses cutscenes taken from the anime to bookend the gameplay.

Devastator has a power-up system in which letters represent the type of bullet pattern, and collecting the same power-up multiple times improves the output. They also have a default grappling hook weapon that is strong but has limited range. Players start with five health units and can recover more from other power-ups.
