2. "Diablo" pronounce somewhat similar to "Big Pineapple" in Mandarin and Cantonese

since taobao.com(think of it as Chinese ebay) banned all auctions with keywords involving diablo, gamers and shops in China came up with different ways to circumvent the filter, with words like "a game you've been waiting for 11 years" or "Blizzard's latest"

one of the more creative one is selling "3 big pineapple, from America/Taiwan, you know what I mean ;)"

this works for a while, untill someone paid 800 Yuen and actually received 3 pineapples.

and since this matches the description on site, this poor dude can't get a refund. sad :(

A colleague of mine gave his MMO account to a friend so he could grind levels on it while he was away. The friend mixed up accounts and sold another friend the account he was borrrowed. Then the friend who bought it got fucked over, since the dude that gave it reseted passwords.

They are still friends.

The account I sold was initially given to a guild leader for free, who then passed it on to an old counter-strike clan member of mine (purely by chance), who then gave it back to me. Then I sold it. That account is basically a slut and will have anybody.

I feel bad for the guy who spent all that money on those pineapples, but I think the whole story is rather fascinating, and just a bit funny too.

Fun facts: 1 yen is the smallest denomination in Japanese currency akin to 1 penny. 1 Yuan on the other hand is more akin to 1 dollar. Chinese currency has smaller cents analogs.

Couldve emailed blizzard to get it back. That's why buying accounts is stupid, the original owner can just call blizzard and get it back whenever they want.
