The 1-Up Heart is an extra life-granting item that appears in the Game Boy incarnation of the Mario series.

A vine is a plant that climbs or trails a flexible stem. In video game usage, they are plants that the player can climb or use to swing across something. They are most commonly used in jungle settings.
