Will steam let you pre load the game before it is realised? I  can not find a defenetive answer thanks. 

I was wondering this too. Seems like it'd be a great idea, considering how large the game is going to be. I don't know about most folks, but it takes me a while to download 20 gigs worth of data.

This has been wondered for a while now. For now, the answer is "they are working on it". If you believe an e-mail one steam user got from a customer rep - then yes Steam will have preload but the time is yet unknown on when they will announce. I'm hopeful - so all you can do is be patient. If you want to receive the latest news, I suggest tuning into this thread as I'm sure it will blow up if/when the Steam Pre-Load is announced. Other than that, I certainly will reply back to this topic the minute Steam announces it - it's the last piece of my "want" for this game... 16GB of download starting @ 12:00PM PST of launch day will take forever to finish with my connection.

Well they are pre-loading on Direct2Drive, so I could very easily seeing Steam doing the same thing.

Steam preloads start tomorrow according to bioware.

The preload is about 10GB.  It completed a lot faster than I expected.  I was getting 3.3MB/s.

So we can not pre load the whole game i thought you need 20GBS for the install

I looked at my install folder and there is 15.3GB worth of files (deluxe version).  Either my bandwidth monitor in steam was wrong about only 10GB downloading or some compression occurred.

So all going well tomorrow well be able to play the full game?

If you have trouble with decrypting starting, close steam completely and then try again.  If it is decrypting, just go prepare some snacks and watch some TV while waiting.
 
My only qualm with the preloads was that it unlocked at 2PM EST.  Major inconvenience for me as it cut down dramatically on the amount of time I have to play before work.
