The third and final game in the Lands of Lore series. Continuing the core first person RPG gameplay of the previous titles, Westwood Studios made Lands of Lore III a more non-linear game than the previous entries by adding four guilds to join which each featured their own quest line.
Westwood Studios' follow up to The Throne of Chaos puts the player in the role of Luther, the cursed son of the the previous title's villain. As an ancient evil awakens, Luther must decide whether or not he can overcome the legacy of his blood.
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall from Bethesda Softworks is an enormous RPG and sequel to The Elder Scrolls: Arena. It includes a massive gameworld and pioneering freeform play. It was well received for these factors, but was criticised for a number of crippling bugs.
One of the last traditional 2D fantasy RPG's to hit the PC, Anvil of Dawn was developed by Dreamforge Entertainment in 1995.
