    Overview

Dragonia is an interactive DVD visual novel published by Hirameki International Group exclusively in the United States sometime in Summer 2005 [2]. The story follows the adventure of a young man named Ryu on his quest to find a group of magical orbs in order to stop the evil Hadele from taking over the world. Upon its initial release, Dragonia included a "Lovely Anime Girls Digital Artbook" that contained various images and PC wallpapers on a DVD disc.

    Development

Ads featuring Dragonia could be found within the pages of Hirameki's AnimePlay Magazine as far back as 2003, almost two years before its publication. Hirameki stated that Dragonia would be the company's first wholly original game instead of being a localization of a preexisting title like their other releases [3]. A developer for the game was never mentioned anywhere by Hirameki and is not even listed in the game's own credits. The development team appears to have been based in Japan and the list of translators in the credits suggests that the script was originally written in Japanese. There were other original games advertised by Hirameki, such as a sci-fi title called KOU-GA-SHA: Space Odyssey, but Dragonia would end up being the only original Hirameki title to make it to market [4].
