Glad to see it get another 9. For those following the Robert Cram videos he gave it a 8.5 on his site which I think is called MS Xbox World or something to that effect. I have a feeling it's average will end out in the 75-80 range barring some unusually low score ala joystiq.

OK, after watching the video review, I am so bloody excited to dig in! Really great to hear how well the combat is, especially concerning the diversity; some of those high level magic spells looked outstanding as well. While the lacking story is one such downside, I imagine I'm hardly going to care once I really get deep into all of the mechanics and will be too busy exploring to really care about any sort of narrative.

What struck me as weird with the review, though, was when the ME2 Launch trailer theme started to play at around the 7 minute mark.

Seems to be getting scores all across the gamut. Joystiq gave it what two stars? And there are several in the 7 and 8 range.

I figure the max GB will give it is a 4, but I have feeling it might get a 3 given the glitchiness if they are feeling uncharitable.

Not that i care I already decided I'm going to buy it.

Only thing bumming me out is like they said in the review there is no randomization enemies will always be in pre-determined spots.But hey that's something they could always adress in a patch, if there was enough outcry about it.

That isn't exactly true, even if it is mostly right. Enemies do have respawns and there is a certain random element to it. A place that is safe during the day might have enemies at night, a place that is bandits during the day may be a ogre in the evening, etc etc. Also apparently as you get further in the game some mini boss monsters start showing in new places. So while there might "always" be enemies at a given spot it might not always be the same enemy and the situation may change a bit depending on things. Certain spots will be static though, like the canyon leading from Cassardis to Gran Soren is always harpies... :/

In fairness, taking a difference of three decimal points seriously when it comes to game reviews is laughable.

Why does these threads keep being made?

Reviews seem to be all over the place, which I guess is to be expected, after the reaction from the demo.

Personally, I enjoyed it a lot though, so I'll be buying it eventually, regardless of scores. I certainly don't put much weight behind what Gametrailers thinks.

People see an 8.7 as an 8 and obviously a 9 or above as a "perfect" score. The trolls need an excuse after all...

Unless you have something new or meaningful to add to this discussion, there is no need to simply post a thread with a review score from another website. If people wanted to know what the gametrailers review score was, they would go to gametrailers.
