EA Canada is the largest Electronic Art's studio which is located in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Overview
The development studio Opened in January of 1999. EA Canada is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, a neighboring city to Vancouver. As the largest Electronic Arts studio the building plays home to a motion-capture studio, twenty-two rooms for composing, fourteen video editing suites, three production studios, a wing for audio compositions, and a quality assurance department.
The studio expanded in 2002 when Electronic Arts acquired Black Box Games. As EA Canada grew, Electronic Arts dedicated the top four floors of its Vancouver office to Black Box Games, now EA Black Box, and turned it into another development studio.
Prior to being acquired by Electronic Arts in 1991 for $11 million, EA Canada was known as Distinctive Software which was known for a number of racing and sports games under the Accolade brand.
Games
With the closure of EA Chicago, EA Canada is the studio that develops numerous bestselling EA SPORTS franchises, including Fight Night, FIFA, NBA LIVE, and NHL. EAC is also home to games falling under the EA SPORTS BIG brand, including the FIFA Street, SSX snowboarding, and NBA Homecourt. The Need for Speed franchise, and the more recent game Skate, were developed at EA Black Box.
