Earth Defence Force 2017 Portable is a digital-only PlayStation Vita game in the Earth Defense Force series, featuring ad-hoc and online mulitplayer for up to 4 players.
I'm definitively getting it, my first "real" EDF game after Insect Armageddon was a bit of a let down. Though given I have a Vita backlog, I'll have to decide whether it will be a day one purchase.
@AjayRaz: If that is the case I'll probably get it but not at launch. I have enough games in my backlog and school starting up again I don't need another game I won't get to for months :P
Depends on the price, seeing that the 360 version original dropped at $29.99, I can't see them charging more than $20 for this. If they do, I'll wait for a sale.
That's pretty much what I've always read about these games. Never played one, I would take a chance on the Vita one if it was cheaper. However, just saw this PS Blog post saying that it's going to be $39.99. Will be waiting for a sale instead.
lol game cost more than it did on xbox like 7 years ago.
No 1 gives a shit about vita at all eh?
There are a lot of weird expectations for Vita pricing - probably partially related equally to "$40 is the default price for Vita digital games; this is what we think you should pay for Day 1 Digital Releases™" as well as to "this isn't really going to sell that well on this platform in this territory, might as not worry about how we price it."
That said, I will probably pick it up if/when PS+ discounts it.

I think you're spot on with that. And I will also be willing to buy this once it goes cheaper.
I wasn't terribly happy with the price, but given the dearth of Vita games I went for it. Pretty great so far! I played a decent amount of the 360 version several years back and this port is pretty well done. The whole game seems a bit smoother and it controls nicely. Levels are just long enough to make it a killer pick-up-and-play game.
Also, it's super sweet to watch a horde of ants stiffly spin off into the distance after loosing a few rockets in their direction. Mindless, but fun.
