    Overview

F-1 Dream is a Formula One racing game originally developed by Capcom for the Arcades in 1988. It would see a PC Engine conversion the following year published by the system's co-creators NEC. The game uses a top-down perspective similar to the F1 Circus franchise and allows the player to customize their vehicle between races depending on how much money they earned. It features the likenesses of various famous F1 racers at the time, though their names have been slightly altered to avoid copyright issues.

The PC Engine version of the game added a story mode, which presents the player as a fledgling F1 driver hoping to win fame and fortune on circuits across the world. The player has to hire mechanics to work on their car before they start investing in upgrades, boosting aspects like the tire strength and engine power.
