is the god damn Terminator. I feel like I should be his companion. Are all the companions this crazy overpowered?
 I ran into this one lady who was surrounded by a 8-9 dogs. By the time I had killed just her Boone had slaughtered all of the dogs.

not all of them, and if you get ED-E from Primm (you have to go inside the mojave express) she makes it so that spotting range for enemies is increased, so often you'll not even be able to fire a shot.

Boone is pretty awesome. I think I lost him somehow, which sucks. He was carrying 500 caps of gear.

He's the only companion I've come across so far, and yeah, he fucking destroys everything in our path. When I found him the difficulty of the game decreased by a pretty large degree. I'm thinking about letting him go for awhile because killing things has actually become less fun, haha.

Do any of you guys got the achievement for getting all the followers? Does it mean "get all of them at once," or just recruit them all at least once throughout the game. I have the option of doing Boone's quest now, but I sort of want that achievement, so....I was just going to wait until the end and get them all at once. I'm in Hardcore mode...so he'll die. Anyway, it's tough out there on your own, if I can take him I want to!!!!

Like.. I'm walking down the Freeside when suddenly I just see some guys head get blown off in a cinematic sequence.
 
Thinking what. just. happened. Slowly realizing that this was the start of something beautiful.

I'm stuck on the quest to look for evidence in the lobby, there is no lobby for clues.  who do you bring out for him to shot?  does it matter?  there are now a few people I could drag out there and let him shot but I have no idea who actually took his wife if anyone.

Boone is pretty fucking epic. The amount of times he's killed things/people in the wasteland before I've even seen them is not even worth counting now. 1 shot to the head each time. He's awesome. 

He's got problems with masses of ghouls basically ganging up on him in Vault 34.  Fun times.  When out in the wasteland, yes, he's quite the handyman.

I swear, he does more killing than I do. I could just sit back and let him blow everyone's face off. 

I just got him. Pumped to hear he'll actually be helpful. 
 
I'm super-paranoid about companion death in this game. I guess I could always load up an old save, but I'd rather not do that.  Is it hard to keep companions alive (I'm playing HC if that matters) or should I not really worry about it and just take someone with me all the time? 
 

Man, I really want to know the specifics of "The Whole Gang is Here" achievement. Do they all have to be alive???? Anyone know?

Well, Veronica does punch the hell out of shit with a Displacement Fist which literally turns someone into God Gundam.

I got him a while ago, haven't killed anyone myself since, cuz I never have the chance.

Boone is the human Fawkes. 
He make everything to easy.  Only problem i had was when he was gettin ganged up by Cazador. 

Boones is a freaking XP exploit. Just wander around the wastes and watch Xp randomly pop up as he caps people you can't see. 

Boone is great, but he attacks everything on site, even tho he is on passive?

Boone died on me once (hardcore mode), i immediately went back to an old save so i wouldn't lose him.

I had boone for the longest time, but then told him to go chill at the Lucky 38 while I tried out Cass. She herself doesn't do much damage, but her perk is amaaaaazing. Whiskey grants me +2 Strength and +2 Charisma and increased DT, with NO negative side effects. And addiction also doesn't have any negative side effects. It's fantastic.

how did you get her to get up off that damn stool? I dont have any dialog options to get her to join me "

Boone is over powered until you get to enemies with high DR like sentry bots, deathclaws, glowing ghouls, etc

Have you set the cinematic kills to player view? If you do, the deaths slow down from your perspective when Boone kills a dude. THIS IS AWESOME. I'll be looking at a dude and BAM his head explodes in slow motion.

I let him go, though, and replaced him with Veronica.  She wears power armor, so it's really hard for her to die, and she tanks badguys for me while I take them out safely.
 
Wish she had a better perk, though.  Oh well, hopefully I'll find some more companions soon!

Ideal if your going to be a passives character
 
Just give him some high armor and your good to go!

He is great on most enemies but hard hitting close range armored types are still a threat. Well I guess that would include only Deathclaws but still, Don't go thinking that you are invincible now. Also If anyone is playing on the PC I strongly recommend to look for a mod that let's you have all the companions at once. It might get a bit easy but So far all the companions were fun and useful.

also he doesn't always want to put it on if you give him more than one hat. At one point he was wearing a space helmet instead of his beret.

I've played for quite a while with Boone now and the game does start to catch up to him. I may switch over to Veronica just for a change of pace. Still, early on Boone leaves a hell of an impression.

Ive been having fun dressing him up in various ridiculous outfits. He gets mad when you remove the beret, but then he gets over it.
I want to make a double sniper team but I'm not good at making ammo yet. Are there any other sniper like rifles that don't use .308 ammo?

I looked it up and the Anti-material rifle uses .50 caliber rounds. Whoah. This will be fun. 

i just get the companions to come with me then i send them all to the lucky 38 and have them wait for me.  like others have said it's too much of a headache to have to worry about your companions dying in hc mode.

Boone is so overpowered, it makes very hard way to easy
