Terminator 4: Neon Dragon
To all of you who are familiar to the Far Cry franchise, you are normally in the middle of nowhere. The layout looks beautiful, you can clearly tell that a lot of time and effort has been put into each game. Far Cry 3 was an exceptional piece of entertainment. Machinima says "It's like Skyrim with guns!" and it had several nominations and awards from E3. Ubisoft decided to make a spin-off based off of a map editor they had made for Far Cry 3 which allowed players to add 80's movie special effects. The turn out was Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. A game filled with as many innuendos and 80's clichés as there was effort into the graphics. The frame rate is excellent, even on consoles, but the game lacks potential storyline, and ends with a less than climactic closing. During the game, you play as a half-man, half-robot named Rex Power Colt, a cybercommando. You can clearly tell it's Far Cry game, but only because of the title and controls. The game has absolutely nothing to do with the Far Cry franchise, and just seems to be there for Ubisoft to see how much money they can obtain from the Far Cry 3 name. This isn't an add-on, it's its own game. Don't expect much. It's supposed to be a tribute to old VHS era films that had nuclear wars in 2007. The game is a fun substitute if you can't acquire a copy of Far Cry 3, but it is highly reccommended that you just buy Far Cry 3. The game does not feature the ability to craft objects like you are in the first game. Everything is unlocked via side missions. I spent most of my time playing the side missions before doing the actual story. There are only a handful of story missions and around twelve side missions. Being able to take down large tank-like enemies with ninja shurikens is highly amusing, but once you've unlocked everything, killing enemies becomes to easy and you end up feeling powerful yet useless. You are given few weapons, that allow the same mix and match weapon attatchment system that was featured in Far Cry 3. The most entertaining thing I found in the game, was running around with a large explosive firing mini gun, shooting at enemy convoys or the chain kills you can use on enemies that are near each other. That is what makes the game slightly entertaining. I found it okay, but not worth the Microsoft Points they are asking for. If you like games that are open-world and lazer guns, then by all means, go nuts.
