Using uBlock ad blocker, the video player will not load.
Disabling uBlock on Giantbomb the video player will load.

Well, that's good to know. If you need actual tech support on disabling the problem, maybe contact the maker of said ad blocker, because the site technical staff probably won't assist (and probably can't either) in the use of a third-party plug-in that is hurting their revenue stream.

The Gamespot video player has been completely unusable for ages for me because of whatever scripts and ads they have running in front of that thing.

The key now will be finding out what exactly the thing is that's being blocked. If any of the staff could help us out with that it would be greatly appreciated. (@edgework)

I think the problem started at around Day 2 of this year's GotY extravaganza.

uBlock is being dumb and blocking the video player. Don't use it. uBlock blocks WAY too much.

are you using html5 player? or flash?

Edit: Watching video on html5 player with ublock and works.if you want to use html5 you may need to disable ublock select the html5 player, play the video and refresh.

I think ulblock does not like flash :P

I think disabling the blocker on this domain (if uBlock has that option) would probably just solve it. Considering you're a premium member that wouldn't be a problem.

FYI, I use uBlock Origin, best adblocker around.

For our videos, you might have to disable it, then after the video loads, try enabling it again, and it should work. uBlock is being overly restrictive of certain cookie writing scripts. Trying to figure out how to fix it permanently.

@jslack: Yeah disabling uBlock fixes the problem. I'm working for a company who's website that faced a similar problem but have no clue how the front-end guys fixed the issue. Just said that I should report it incase there are any similar reports.

@wikitoups I wasn't able to select any of the video options. The play button was being blocked so I couldn't select html5/streaming/flash etc.

@cencen123: It should work if you re-enable ublock again.

Those ads bring in revenue, you want them to bring in less revenue so you can have an ad free experience?

...well, there's premium.
