I'm creating a custom list of highest-rated GC games (based on my own scoring criteria), and I'm going down GB's list of GC games. I'm opening new tabs for different games and checking their user ratings. But on 3 separate devices (one of which I haven't used for that), the site asked if I was a robot. Can this be fixed?

The site just did it again about minutes ago, and I didn't even do anything on this device for hours, let alone be on Giantbomb for at least an hour before I logged in a few minutes back, and it asked me before I logged in.

@f-metroid: unfortunately it's a necessary evil, at least for the time being. Site's getting hit by a ton of spam and bots.

I was getting it a lot myself a couple days ago but havent for awhile. Maybe it lets up after awhile, or temporarily.

E: sorry staff should weigh in, i dont mean to make assumptions.

If you're hitting the site on multiple devices from the same IP address you may have hit some kind of "limit" before the site just wants to make sure you're a legit user and not a potential botnet.

Or maybe you /are/ a robot <insert spooky sitcom music>

Are you using a VPN at all? I sometimes run into this when I forget to turn my VPN service off.

The most common reasons for this affecting non malicious users is

1) Your ISP harbors hackers who are being malicious towards us. This is super common in China, Eastern Europe and Russia. Everyone who uses one of those ISPs needs to prove they aren't a bot.

2) You're running an RSS reader that not just reads our RSS feed, it also scrapes our site. We don't take kindly to scrapers. There's a few Android RSS readers that are notorious for that.

Sorry for any hassle...
