So hyped for this year. Not sure if new game and console iteration announcements are going to really get me jacked up, but I'm straight pumped for the site coverage, which I get exclusively from http://www.hawktaku.tumblr.com/
I was an extra when Blink 182 were shooting the video for 'Bored To Death' a few weeks back. I don't know much about this new dude but hell, they all seemed pretty happy to be together.
The "new dude" is Matt Akiba of Alkaline Trio and noted Satanist.
This year I'm kinda just following the show and streams out of sheer habit. I can't really say I'm all that psyched about anything in particular. Hope we see some cool stuff though. And as an owner of a Vr headset I'd like to see a touch announcement and some applications/games.
@sprinks: I would imagine it has more to do with the sponsor being another Publication rather than a game publisher. It would be rebroadcasting another news site's video.
Do you have to be a premium member to watch the press conference streams?
Nope. It should all be free, including the nightly discussion streams! No E3 content should be premium-only. This is by far the biggest time of year for them in terms of unique users (huge spike in non-members watching) so it would be a pretty crazy thing to require premium. Instead, for the last few years they've had sponsors (sometimes appearing in the set, and sometimes said directly by Jeff) to help pay for the cost.
Jeff, as a really long time fan, I'm curious about your opinions about blink-182 and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. I assume you have a blink-182 newsletter.
And yeah, Tom's voice was pretty... weird in his post-AVA phase.
I never watch mixlr. I can't help but wonder, it seems like Jeff and Alex are on opposite sides of the musical taste spectrum. Do you guys normally trade off radio privileges or is it just the hum of the engine with no soundtrack?

Alex just confirmed it was Peter Stormare. Unfortunately he was called away on business, so it fell through. However, it seems the invitation is still open, so who knows when old Peter will pop up during some UPF or Playdate.
Crazy to think the Saturn was actually more powerful than the PS and N64, just developers struggled with it and then ditched it because everyone was going for the PS.
That fucking comment about Blink now just sounding like (+44) is spot on dude. I like Matt Skiba (new guitarist from Alkaline Trio) much better then douchey Tom, but with him and Mark having the same sounding voice it just kind of sounds like a faster (+44). Not a bad thing.
Is that an international/Japanese version of the Saturn in the hero image (and in the top-right corner)? I don't remember the grey shell being so light, or there being blue buttons on the controller.
@floydeo: No idea. I just remember Danny O'dwyer would say videogames.com or nuke.com as an alternate for the opening of the Lobby.
I know Jeff wanted to call Giant Bomb Nuke.com when they were looking for a name. I remember a podcast where he talked about trying to get it from Gamespot.
Damn, a +44 reference. Can't wait to hear more of what you have to say about blink-182's return to the mainstreams, as well as a critical analysis about their place in the music industry today. Or more video game talk, I like that too.
