HYPE levels = BESERK
I wonder if Spooky's going to fall asleep at the mic during the later matches.
@alkusanagi: More than Tekken Tag/Injustice (definitely a worse story crash-wise), barely less than KI; seems fine. Obviously not being on the final day is a bummer but now it doesn't conflict with my schedule so I'm happy. Just because there's 2000 participants in Street Fighter doesn't mean more than 50 of them or so are actually worthy of being there, but KoF will probably have 30ish good players out of their 300, granted we'll only see 8 of them. Romance should camp outside of the registration days ahead of time so he doesn't miss out again.
@starvinggamer: I'm watching the capcomfighters marathon of course!
Soon enough the FGC will be nothing but Smash, because there will be 10,000 entrants and every match takes 15-20 minutes.
Everyone planning to watch EVO should check out http://www.twitch.tv/ultrachentv tonight around 8:30PDT for their pre-Evo breakdown of players to look out for and storylines to follow. Also here's a 3.5 hour stream they did last night giving a basic overview of the entire cast of USFIV http://www.twitch.tv/ultrachentv/b/545532702. They do an excellent job of breaking down the basic gameplan for each character so you can develop a better understanding of the on-screen action during the tournament.
@carryboy: USFIV will. All capcomfighters stream archives are sub-only. Looks like the other official evo channels have the past archives available so I'd assume the same will be true for this year.
Always my favourite event of the year. Cant believe its that time again already. Will be rooting for Daigo all the way as ever. Don't really care about anything else. After working perfectly for 2 years my internet has chosen the week before evo to crap itself so I will probably miss most of it unfortunately.
@mrpibb: Friday: Srkevo2/Capcomfighters until 4, Srkevo1/Srkevo2 from 4-6, Srkevo1 from 6 onward, Saturday Srkevo1/Srkevo2 all day, Sunday Srkevo1 all day. At the expense of not being able to watch more of it it is actually fairly well organized this time around.
@fredchuckdave: Friday probably won't happen because of UPF, but Saturday and Sunday definitely.
thanks!
@mrpibb: No problem. Thanks for having a non twitch chat available for people that want to speak english instead of 4chan.

I 2nd this notion!
Anybody know anything of the archives yet? Going to be put behind a paywall?
Ok actually now that I look at the schedule, the only USFIV that is streaming on capcomfighters is pools. Quarters through finals archives may actually be available for free.

If things are the same as last year the Evo subscription will give you access to HD archives and chat, so if you're fine with SD then no need to pay.
As said before only the pools of USFIV are on Capcomfighters, everything else is on the two evo streams (down from three last year)
http://www.twitch.tv/ultrachentv is LIVE! Find out what's going on at Evo this weekend!
EDIT: 80 Japanese players for Ultra!
No Reynald or Romance for KoF is rough, guess it's all Korea/Japan/Mexico/Chile (and maybe some random French dude) at this point.
You can at least appreciate the irony of Jeff answering 1 of Brad's emails on the bombcast saying he likes to occasionally tune in to fighting game streams having earlier spent 15 minutes talking about next weekend's impending The International finals and not even mentioning this weekend's EVO 2014 once, not even in passing. I was figuratively facepalming that shit.
To the OP, Tekken X Street Fighter will not be revealed at EVO. Namco is focusing on Rise of the Incarnates and Super Smash Bros WiiU. Wait until those games are released, then we might hear something about Tekken.
Also, the last time Tekken was ever revealed outside Japan was Tekken 5 back in 2004 when arcades were still somewhat alive in North America. Ever since then Tekken DR, Tekken 6, Tekken Bloodline Rebellion, TTT2, TTT2Unlimted were all revealed at Arcade Operator Epo's, Tokyo Game Shows, and Japanese Tougeki tournaments. Hence, you will have to wait for an arcade themed event for the reveal of Tekken X Street Fighter considering Tekken is first and foremost always an arcade game.

No-where in the OP did I say anything about Tekken X Street Fighter appearing at EVO or being revealed anywhere else for that matter. That's on you for rushing to post a reply before properly reading.
@masturbatingestbear: They still have exhibition matches at Evo for SFII (I think they use Championship Edition) but one of the things that makes Evo interesting to me is that the games are constantly changing and SFII isn't, it's been the same for a long long time now.
@masturbatingestbear: Where do you get the idea that the SFII community is just as large as the SFIV community? Do you honestly think that if Evo ran an SSFIIT event it would pull 1979 entrants? I'd be surprised if it did more than a couple hundred. And they'll be streaming the Tournament of Legends finals on Saturday in between KoFXIII finals and UMvC3 quarters & semis.
@flstyle: Here's a really great primer on what to expect/look out for at Evo this year done by AVClub http://www.avclub.com/article/viewers-guide-evo-years-biggest-fighting-game-tour-206670
Might be worth adding to the OP
I've been thinking about how young and fresh Ultra SFIV is at this point and I have to say this tournament is practically made for Infiltration. He's the kind of player who will benefit from this and his deep multi-character knowledge will be a massive asset during the tournament. Just like when AE launched in 2012, Infiltration is definitely "the player to beat" for Evo 2014.
My personal favourites will be Sakonoko and Haitani as usual.
Other than that I'm really looking forward to seeing how much of a murderface Tokido has become at KoFXIII.
Curious how Tokido does in KOF too. He sounded determined to do well in that one article. Shame KOF top 8 finals are not on sunday over Ki as i'd much rather see it.
@adequatelyprepared: Need to have money to sponsor things.
@starvinggamer: Lick da lips! Smug got bodied at NLBC before getting top 8 at CEO.
@adequatelyprepared: Need to have money to sponsor things.
Or maybe they realized that rather than pay for a booth to show off a game that is already out that everyone in attendance already owns, they could add $10,000 to the prize pool instead.

Oh, that makes more sense. Still a bit strange that they aren't listed as a sponsor because of that, but good on them.
Well, EVO 2014 is very almost upon us, the fridge is full of drinks and I'm hype as hell, I'd say its about time for some crappy predictions.

Ahhh yes of course, we won't be in the chat today because Jeff and co will be doing Unprofessional Fridays, so that link will be very useful, thanks!
Pretty excited, will probably watch everything.
Except for smash,. The matches are too drawn out and boring, just hit. Ledge grab . Repeat. No thanks
