Anyone else cautiously optimistic about Kinect now?

I haven't paid much attention to Kinect before, but I have to say, from what Microsoft showed at their press conference, I'm slightly intrigued. I remember in Socom Combined Assualt that the voice control, though buggy, was actually pretty enjoyable, if not helpful. Now that it's coming to one of my favorite franchises, Mass Effect, I can honestly say I'm interested. Not only that, the demo they showed of the guy playing Ghost Recon: Future Solider on Kinect was...different. I can see how it could be fun to play a shooter with Kinect, but it might get tiring after a while. (I personally hope they will allow you to leap up off the couch while playing with the controller just for an awesome melee attack.) I don't know, last year it seemed they were destining Kinect for failure, with the dreadful Skittles the Tiger demo, but this year, they've actually got me interested. Anyone else feel the same way?

By randomly waving your arms around.

I may be easily impressed, but I'll be buying Kinect now that I saw Microsoft's press conference. Can't wait to issue commands in ME3 for an example. Also I might actually buy a party game or two just to have fun with non-gamer friends.

No, but its not for me. Kinect is for a different audience. Their attempts to bridge the gap are pretty lame so they shouldn't try. Make Kinect games for the people who care about it, fat gamers(real gamers, as they like being called) will never want to move around.

Only with a price drop with firmware update to allow tracking of finger movements.

You'll never convince the stubborn, hard-headed, closed-minded audience that the Kinect could be fun.  I think that they showed some promising stuff.  I'm not saying it's going to replace my controller anytime soon (or ever) but that doesn't mean there is no room for a different type of gaming.

I'm all for trying new things.

Implementation in ME3 seemed like the only reasonable way to shoe in kinect support for a non motion game. Even then it still feels pretty gimmicky

Dance Central seems like the only worthwhile game for Kinect.

Hell yeah. I've always seen it more as tech than an actual gameplay device, and seeing them actually bringing some of the promises they made is exciting.

I wanna see how developers can make it interesting, and take chances, so I really hope the indie community takes up this challenge.

I've enjoyed my time with it so far, although I'm not too thrilled with them adding it to real games. I would much prefer they just make MORE and BETTER kinect games. Dance Central and Kinect Sports (even Your Shape) were good though!

I think they could use voice commands with any microphone if they wanted to.

I don't like any of the games for it but I like the idea of it. I think its a bit like someone on the E3 Bombcast said I want to see where this tech goes more than anything. I suppose if they make good games for it I might pick on up but I also might get one just to mess on the PC. I like what MS is doing with it even if the quality of the games hasn't really been amazing.

After two E3s, I still remain much more intrigued by Move than I am by Kinect. I haven't bought into either but some of the PSN games and things like Bioshock definitely have me keeping an eye out.

I'm quite enjoying the voice stuff that they got going on. Some games work well with it, such as dance games. It's cool. I don't have one, can't really put it anywhere in the small space in my bedroom. I dislike games such as ghost recon focusing efforts on it when it doesn't fit an FPS at all, but it's cool to see some decent kinect titles that someone younger than me would enjoy.
