I played the hell outta Bad Company. I'm currently rocking to MW2, and it's great, but I could see myself "going home" next March.
This isn't a fanboy wars topic, honestly. I just dig tanks.
Anyone excited by what they've seen of Bad Company 2? Enough to switch from MW2?
I haven't played any Bad Company 2, but I'm a big enough fan of the series that I'm sticking with that rather then buying Modern Warfare 2. I haven't even played MW2.
Yep. Mostly because they are completely different games. In MW 2, unless you are playing in Hardcore, its all for yourself, no team work at all. In BC 2, even without mics, there is a lot of teamwork and you understand each other.
Also, BC has a more tactical approach which makes things more interesting, and its a team based game, which shows up when taking down vehicles like Tanks. Work as a team, and it goes down really fast, work alone, and it will decimate you.
Totally. It's a real teamwork game. People need to change class intelligently and work together or you're finished.
From what I've seen it's closer in approach to BF2 Modern Combat than before. That's a damn fine thing, in my opinion.
What's this about switching? I never consider myself so dedicated to one FPS that if I play another it's considered a 'switch'.
After BFBC1 and BF1943, I think I'm done with the games for a while. I always think I'll play the online MP more than I end up doing, and I did play a fair amount of BFBC1 online.
I guess I feel like a FPS better do something different or far better than previous entries to get me interested anymore. BFBC2 isn't doing anything special for me at all.
I'll play it for awhile, to take a break from MW2. But I'm definitely not dropping Modern Warfare 2 for Bad Company 2. The on-foot combat doesn't look too great, but the chopper, tank/vehicle combat looks awesome.
The beta is excellent. People seem to be more focused on squad combat than what I experienced in the first game. Firefights feel more chaotic in that you can die almost any time, which forces you to find cover immediately after spawn. Bullet drop seems better simulated this time around, making sniping more realistic and fun.
That said, the games are so different that I could play both without issue.
I prefered the first Bad Company to Modern Warfare. I can't wait for the second one, TO BLOW UP ENTIRE BUILDINGS. I wonder what Ice-T would think of it...
So do I. I have faith in DICE after playing a tonne of BF2 a few years ago. They know how to make good maps for the type of varied gameplay in their games. Modern Warfare 2's maps on the other hand are not very well thought out at all for the type of close quarter's gameplay that game offers - and should focus on.
I like what I've played ot the BC2 Beta so far anyway, but being primarily a PC gamer I can't really get a good feel for it, beause I'm rubbish with a controller in FPS games!
I want to like BC2 but its not doing it for me so far. I think the beta isn't doing justice to the BF name (I know its testing but still). That map needs a higher player limit and more vehicles maybe. The action is too isolated for me, its a lot of running around idle and then getting shot out of nowhere or doing the same to others. My last BF game was BF2 so I'm not sure what how much the franchise has changed. Was the combat so sporadic in Bad Company too ?
It was hectic especially in non-vehicle maps. The close quarter enviroments for gold rush are just full of explosions." I want to like BC2 but its not doing it for me so far. " @ThePhantomnaut: So the issue is just this particular map then ? "I haven't played the beta but looking at footage of the map, probably it's the map.
