I could not have said it better myself.
Soldier is the best, however if you are playing on normal you can choose what you think is most fun instead of what is best. Vanguard was most fun to play IMO. Charge into someone from across the room and then blast them with the shotgun as they are flying through the air in slow motion. If you want action and like blasting people then there is no better choice.
I liked Adepts best because I like psi-powers. Hitting guys and hurling them from cover is great. Vanguard and Sentinel were equal in my eyes after that. Soldier was too easy once reasonably leveled and not much fun.
