Can you beat my fighting game collection?`

Hi.

As a huge fan of playing and collecting fighting games its Always a pleasure to se what kind of collections are out there and maybe share some info on need to buy games that i still dont have in mine.

So without further ado can you beat my collection?

MK 1+2+3 are the hot MS-DOS ports. I also own Sango Fighter on a 5,25" floppy, but I'm not sure if that works anymore, since my last working floppy drive died 8 years ago.

Nice collection though, need to bust out my copy of Basara X and play it again sometime.

Not seeing the single best era of 2D fighting games on console ever: Sega Saturn and all their amazing SNK and Capcom ports.

And not a single Neo Geo cart. Kinda buries the entire idea of this being some kind of amazing fighting game collection. Instead I just think this is what it would be like to go into Gamestop this morning and buy every fighting game they have on the shelves.

@klaudkil: If you are a fan of Guilty Gear, the Last Blade series (2 games total) is one of the first series that GG creator Daisuke Ishiwatari worked on. The series has a very GG vibe to it, just think Samurai Showdown x Guilty Gear.

@fisk0: Is the difference between MK 1+2+3 and MK Arcade Kollection just that MK 1+2+3 doesn't have the gui interface of Arcade Kollection?

I have a Third Strike arcade cab so that counts as like 50 games. I win.

I just found my genesis copy of MKII. Everything else is irrelevent

The 32x and Saturn versions beg to differ.

The MK Arcade Kollection is the arcade version ported with sensible controls, including controller support. The MS-DOS versions have insane controls, with F1 as the start button, player movement with SZXC and fighting with UIJMN. Player 2 has the slightly more sensible arrow keys + numpad, and F2 as the start button.

Otherwise, the DOS versions are generally arcade accurate in the graphics, though the music is FM synthesized like on Genesis.

Give me baseball bat and watch as I beat your collection...

Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition, Tekken 3, Soul Caliber 2, Samurai Showdown and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 are the only fighting games you need in a collection. Maybe one of the King of Fighters as well (I think 98 was the best one, but I forget).

If you haven't got PS1 Street Fighter Alpha 3, you need it. Exclusive characters and a crazy world tour mode that lets you upgrade characters until they are absolutely broken. A friend took Blanka all the way through the world tour mode and by the time he was done, his super did more chip damage if you blocked it than it did if it straight up hit you. I made a Charlie whose defense was insane in response. It was great. It was basically what I was hoping USF4 Omega mode would be but wasn't.
