Woah! Let me get this clear. 2009 will be nowhere near 2008.

GTA IV
FarCry 2
Gears of War 2
Mirror's Edge
LittleBIGPlanet
And then there are the, not so epic, but extremely hyped and good games:
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway
Saints Row 2...
Even though these games are sequels, some of the ones on the first list were expected ever since 2007. I have never seen such a hype for a game as I've seen for SSBB or GTA IV, these hypes for so many games (and their quality as well) made this year in gaming legendary, I doubt 2009 will be half as good as 2008. Hopefully 2008 will also be remembered for having a great Sonic the Hedgehog game, we must be patient.
P.S.: Yes, I know that Mirror's Edge hasn't come out yet, nor has GoW 2 but those games are certain to have great sales and reviews.
