Do you ever buy strategy guides because they look cool?

So in todays world there are no reasons for a strategy guide, what with people having internet readily available and can look it up on there phone for free. But I really want to get a few strategy guides just because they look awesome, take for instance the Uncharted 3 Collectors Strategy Guide, it looks fucking amazing. But I have finished the game and would never use it, but man how cool does that look!

A few years ago, I was very into collecting strategy guides. I seldom use them as part of my game experience, though - I've just always really appreciated the care and attention that seems to go into making them. I've actually got a list here on Giant Bomb of all the strategy guides I amassed while I was collecting them.

Was tempted by Skyrims but I didn't bother, and it's probably best I don't. It looks awesome, but I wouldn't use it enough. It would feel a little better than looking stuff up on the internet though.

The last strategy guide I bought was the Nintendo Power one for Ocarina of Time. I didn't even use it when playing the game, I bought it after I beat it because the art in the book looked cool.

I haven't bought a strategy guide in years. Information on the internet tends to be better, especially on a site like wikia where anyone can contribute. Big open-world games like Skyrim and GTA tend to get great interactive maps that a strategy guide can't compete with at all.

Back when strategy guides were relevant, I would always buy Brady Games guides due to the lay out, high gloss color photos, and the fact they were NOT filled with useless Beta information that was already patched out of the game by the time the guide was published. (Prima guides were horrible for the third offense)

The only strategy guide I've ever bought was the one for Ocarina of Time and I'm not sure why I bought it. Not even sure I was the who even bought it but I've got one nearby none the less.

I hadn't picked up a strategy guide in over 5 years until this month, when I bought the Uncharted 3 and Skyrim guides, purely because they looked interesting (the included Uncharted 3 soundtrack with the guide sealed the deal on that one for me).

There's absolutely nothing cool about owning a strategy guide.

I bought the MGS3 guide for both practical and cosmetic reasons. But with a PC and a Iphone that can access the net, and generally games not being as complex as they use to be, the need for guides just isn't there anymore.
